5 quirky ways to redesign your bathroom

From your bathroom cabinet to the towels you use, upgrading your bathroom doesn’t have to mean a whole new suite. Here are five of the easiest and most simple ways to upgrade, redesign and refresh.

Bathroom Cabinet

We know what you’re thinking – there was a time the bathroom cabinet was a neglected entity, used for storage and function but not aesthetic appeal. Not in 2016. Our huge range of designs and styles are all about style as much as practicality, pairing bright lights and subtle features with shaving sockets, audio players, huge storage space and demister panels. No matter how much you have to store inside them, the modern bathroom cabinet is as beautiful as it is useful.

Lighting

Are you a five spotlight, only two of them working household? It’s amazing how many of us neglect the most important part of a bathroom. Lighting can make a huge difference to the feel and look of any room and, in a place we spend so much time trying to pamper and preen, the washroom needs lighting more than anywhere else. Try experimenting with different spots (some come with coloured LEDs around them) or consider other sources of light (your mirror or cabinet, for example). It will make a huge difference to your makeup and grooming, as well as the room’s aesthetics.

New accessories

One of the most simple, cheap and easy ways to redesign a room is in the accessories and, in our opinion, it doesn’t come more simple than the bathroom.

Try choosing a key colour (keeping in mind the colour of your walls and suite) and keep all accessories shades that match. It’s an extremely effective way to create a statement in the bathroom and makes even the most worn of walls look tidied with minimum spend. Consider statement features to add to the room – for example an unusual model or bust. It’s all about something that defines your personality and showcasing it.

It’s all in the art

Even if you’re not much into art, the bathroom is the ideal place to put an interesting frame – guests will visit it and take it in and, more importantly, it can make even the least stylish of rooms scream class. Opting for a painting or cartoon of local interest is a really sneaky way to feign thought, and it can look impressive to frame an old map or news story from your area. Try and be imaginative – it’s not about looking the same as everyone else, it’s about finding your own unique style and there’s no right or wrong answers.

Statement wall

Don’t have the time or inclination to paint the entire room? Statement walls have been a style steady for a while now and they’ve got no sign of slowing down. Try and match accessories and the wall together to give the impression of a thoroughly thought-out room plan and remember – even if you decide you don’t like it or get bored, you’re only a coat of paint or two away from a completely new room again!

Bathroom redesign

It doesn’t take much to upgrade a bathroom – it’s one of the most simple rooms to refresh and the smallest of changes can make a huge impact. For more inspiration check out our Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook pages or scroll through our blog.
