Go natural with textured wood effects this autumn

As the autumn months creep in, we’re seeing home décor moving from fresh and minimal to slightly richer styles and warmer colour palettes. A beautiful autumnal scheme can be created simply by giving your space a coat of bold paint or accessorising with stunning gold detailing and brooding artwork, but if you really want to opt for a choice with sustainable ‘wow’ factor, then you’ll probably be looking for something wholly more unique.

Woodland inspired interiors are certainly that something unique, and with so many beautiful solid wood products available, it’s simple to choose a style and wood that perfectly matches your vision. In celebration of our beautiful solid oak range, we’ve sourced some of the wooden (or wood effect!) pieces we think really break the mould.

As always, if you have a beautiful wooden space you’d like to share or have any tips for caring for wooden pieces, please get in touch on Facebook and Twitter and share with fellow design enthusiasts.

Wooden effect wallpaper

Unusual, yet strangely mesmerising, this beautiful wooden effect wallpaper manages to be stylishly abstract by creating a constant pattern of knots across the whole feature wall. As you can see, the effect also works well with a ‘hodge-podge’ selection of bathroom accessories – perfect if you like your space to be lived in as opposed to clinically pristine and perfectly matched.

Of course, a whole wall adorned with the paper may be a little bold for those hoping to inject a little woodland style without going for a permanent overhaul, but as it’s wallpaper, it shouldn’t be too costly to remove and replace when you want to alter your space.

The rustic oak mirror

A robust solid-oak mirror injects instant style into every room of the house without breaking the bank. We love the longevity and timeless style too, an oak mirror can grace your home for decades and still look stylish so it’s a great affordable investment piece. The bold contrast between oak and pastel shades looks fantastic in this dining room scheme, it’s a great example of how versatile a focal oak framed mirror can be.

Wooden Shower Boards

Pleasant on the eye and the feet, a wooden shower board is both functional and injects a little ‘beach house’ style into even the most urban homes. We love this example in a beautiful red oak hue and it complements warm marble designs perfectly. The effect doesn’t need to be built in either, it can look just as good as a stand-alone item at the foot of a basin.

Create a contrast with wooden units

Perfect for when you want to give your bathroom a makeover without costly building work, here an elegant walnut cabinet brings a real pop of life to a minimalist theme. A good joiner should be able to create a similar effect without any plumbing changes and this is a great way to incorporate storage which packs a punch.

We hope that’s given you some ideas you can utilise in your own home this autumn. Don’t forget, we have next day delivery as standard on our beautiful range of illuminated mirrors and solid-oak mirrors too!
